U Camejuzzu i focu, una tradizione antichissima che simboleggia la fine del dominio dei saraceni in Calabria e in tutto il meridione in generale. Lo spettacolo consiste in un cammello di legno e cartapesta che viene animato da una persona del luogo che, sulle note di una tarantella, simbolo della tradizione musicale calabrese, balla in modo instabile, circondato da una gran folla che lo accompagna battendo le mani in attesa dello scoppio dei fuochi di cui è ricoperto. L’evento, molto sentito dalla popolazione calabrese, è un’attrazione anche per i turisti che durante i mesi estivi scelgono la Calabria come meta delle loro vacanze. Lo spettacolo si conclude con lo scoppio della girandola posta sulla coda del cammello e l’applauso finale della cittadinanza, che prosegue la festa con musiche e danze tipiche in un’atmosfera di sana allegria.

U Camejuzzu i focu, an ancient tradition that symbolizes the end of the dominion of the Saracens in Calabria and throughout the south Italy.
